STEM and Branch Academy is a place-based, hands-on learning environment for students ages 5-14. Students grow and learn through an emphasis on STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Math along with Art and Environmental study (E-STEAM), and also Branch: Outdoor Education. In the outdoor classroom. Students experiment by observing how nature functions. They see what they are learning as it happens in the natural world and then figure out how to demonstrate that knowledge in their own way. Students are guided through the process of taking charge of their own learning which helps them gain confidence and mental strength. STEM and Branch is where a student is engaged in the learning process in a fun and exciting new way. Welcome to the world of STEM and Branch!
My name is Jen Judson and I started STEM and Branch in August 2020 as an action project for obtaining my Environmental Education Certification through the Michigan Alliance for Environmental and Outdoor Education (MAEOE) group. I am STEM certified and a licensed teacher in the state of Michigan. I have been teaching outdoor education since 2010 and love showing young minds what the outside world has to offer. STEM and Branch has been an absolutely amazing opportunity for my growth mindset both as a STEM/outdoor educator and as a steward in Environmental Education.
